Chacko Chandy ( Vavachan ) (3rd generation ) Chacko Chandy (1851- 1925 ) was the only son of Chandy Chacko (Kunju) and Maria (2nd wif) born in the year 1851. He was the only male member in the 3rd generation of the family. He was affectionately called as Vavachan. Chandy married Thresia from Ottathegunkal family Kalarkode, Alappuzha. The couple had ten children six boys and four girls. Vavachan was a very pious man and was actively involved in all the activities of the church and parish. His residence Pattara Tharavad was nearby the parish church. He brought up his children God fearing and educated them as far as possible during those days. His 2nd son Kurioakose chose to be religious priest after completing his High school Studies from S.B high school Changanacherry. Accordingly joined Varappuzha Puthanpally Seminary and received his Deacon ‘ Pattom’ in the year1912. But God Almighty had other plans. He was taken to his heavenly abode in1913, a few months prior to his priestly Ordination. His 3rd daughter Claramma Joined the CMC congregation after completing her H.S studies and received the name Sr. Kochuthresia. She worked as a teacher in various Carmelite convent schools and became the Mother General of CMC convents of Changanachery Diocese.The CMC convent at Muhamma was established during her tenure as Mother General Vavachan owned a vast stretch of land including the Muhamma market area and it is said he controlled the market during his time. He was very popular and powerful. At the same time he had to face many hardships in life. He lost his four sons at young age and had to take care of their families, also lost his youngest daughter as a child. Vavachan and wife loved and taken care of their in laws and grand children. He arranged separate residence for his each son. Thus his eldest son Chacko shifted to Kizhakeveedu, Kuriakose chose to be a priest, Ousepachan to Kootunkal, Vakkachan to Chathamangalam, Chandichan to Puthenpura and Yohannan the youngest was given the Pattaratharavadu. His eldest daughter Maria was married to the Kavalan family Changanacherry, second daughter Kunjandamma was married to Payyand family Champakulam, and Clara his third daughter joined CMC convent and became a nun and was known as Sr. Kochutressia. . He prepared a partition deed during the month of December 1920 and his vast area of land was given to children Vavachan left this world peacefully on 17.06.1925 at the age of 74. During his life time he was not only popular and powerful, he was also actively involved in the religious, cultural and social activities of Muhamma parish and this locality. Considering the spiritual, cultural and economic advancement achieved by the parish through the works of shri Chacko Chandy and his family members a memorial was constructed in the cemetery of the parish as ordered by the Dioceses of Changnachery after his death.vide Order No. 1868 of 1925 and the memorial is still maintained by the family.
