Welcome to PATTARA FAMILY

Dear family members,
I am very happy to inform you all, after two and half years of persistent hard work, we have finally succeeded in launching our family web site www.pattara.net. Ours is a very unique site with many useful and interesting user friendly features. I request you all to visit the site immediately and send feedback

The web site is launched with the following objectives.

1) To create awareness among our new and upcoming generation, the rich heritage and tradition of the family they are born and brought up and they are bound to keep its traditions and values wherever they live.
2) To identify each other wherever you meet and save from the embarrassing situation of two family members being introduced each other by a third person
3) To understand how you are related to another member, whether one is your uncle, cousin, aunt, nephew, niece etc
4) To make you up to date about family affairs
5) To enable exchange of greeting on anniversaries, festivals etc bring the family more closer
6) A permanent record of your identity which can be accessed from anywhere.

The site has many interesting and unique features.

Tree
The Tree connects all the members of the family. Go to menu and click on tree. You can see the family tree connecting all the family members from the eldest to the youngest. Search a member. Click on the tree symbol adjacent to the photo you can see the tree of that member.
Search
To get the details f any member click on search menu. Type first three letters of the name and search. We will see the photo of the member, click on the photo for the details. From here you can go the family of his parents, siblings, and children and so on. The search menu has many other interesting features worth trying.
Privacy of members
To ensure privacy of members, personal information are concealed and will be available only to registered members. Only registered members are allowed to edit their profile, share photos etc. A registered member can also take permission to edit the profile of other family members who are not computer literate or not alive.
How to Register
Click on the Account menu. Go to Sign up. Proceed as prompted.
Further developing the site
With the launching of the site, the work is only half complete. Now it is left to each member to complete the job by entering his/her details and a brief biography, for which separate folders are provided. This will enable the upcoming generation to trace their past and the history of the family will go on generation after generation.

Acknowledgement

I take this occasion to thank Late Rev. Fr. Joseph Savio Pattara (Appachan, Koottunkal) who actually did the research on the origin of the family and started writing the history of the family. The history of the family is developed based on his research work You all know Designing, developing, launching a family web site of this magnitude requires a lot of initial financial expenditure and requires continued financial support for meeting the recurring expenditure like server hire charges, updating and maintaining the site and technical upgrading. Few family members have willingly come forward to support this venture and on behalf of all family members I thank all of them and hope others will also follow the suit I thank M/s Winsoft Solutions, 5th floor, Revenue tower, Changanachery on behalf of Pattara Famiy, for designing, developing and launching this unique Web Site fully accommodating all our requirements. I take this occasion to thank each every member of the family for their cooperation and support, extended in bringing this project to this stage and request their continued support for carrying on with the project.
