Chandy Chacko (1796-1864) ( 2nd Generation ) Chandy Chacko (Kunju ) ( 1796- 1864 ) 2nd son of Chandy & Thresia was born in 1796. Since the elder son Chandy (Alexander) joined seminary, they were very much concerned about Kunju. Kunju also was very religious and during his childhood days there was no church at Muhamma. For every religious needs people of Muhamma had to go to Vechoor church through Verbenad lake and the journey was very risky in those days. So people of Muhamma wanted a church here. Chandy Chacko volunteered to donate his land adjacent to the Vembanad lake for construction of a new church. Accordingly the land was leased on 26th September 1817 and donated free hold on 27th September 1819 and construction of new church in the name of St.George commenced. The people also got the support from Rev. Fr. Alexander Pattara, the elder brother of Chacko. The work of the church was completed and declared parish on 26th August 1826. Chacko married Clara of Elamala family Mannanam and the couple had three daughters. Clara died at the age of 30. Chacko was compelled for a second marriage as there was no male child in the family. Second marriage was with Maria from Manala Family Muttar. The couple had two children a boy Chandy (Vavachan) and a girl Thresiamma. Chacko expired in the year 1864
